About:
The First Team Strength and Conditioning Coach will be responsible for ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times with the Sports Science and Strength & Conditioning support provided to all players. This will involve gym and pitch based sessions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Play an active role in the daily management of the Sports Science and Strength and Conditioning programme for all first team players
• Work closely with the Head Coach to ensure consistent standards are upheld with the delivery of all pitch based and gym based physical preparation, and
conditioning sessions.
• Plan and deliver on-field and off-field, individual and group strength and conditioning sessions to all first team players supported by principles of athletic development, and based upon performance testing results.
• Keep up-to-date and accurate records of strength and conditioning sessions and individual player programmes.
• Develop and play an active role in the delivery of gym based and pitch based recovery strategies.
• To assist in the collection, analysis, reporting and management of sports science and strength and conditioning data.
• Oversee physical performance testing of players at regular intervals throughout the season.
• Work closely with the Medical department to enhance and develop injury prevention strategies.
• To assist the Medical Department as required in the delivery of on-pitch and gym-based functional rehabilitation sessions, and return to play protocols.
PERSON SPECIFICATION – SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A postgraduate degree in Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning or relevant subject area.
- Recent experience working in professional football.
