Senior Commercial Lead - Indian Football

About the role:
The role of the Senior Commercial Lead entails identifying, securing, and nurturing advantageous associations with sponsors and partners. This is done to uphold the goals and objectives of the Club. Additionally, the role involves driving brand planning, revenue strategy, and overall commercial strategy to ensure sustainable growth and success.

What you’ll do:
• Identify potential sponsors through market research and industry networks.
• Develop customised sponsorship proposals tailored to potential sponsors' objectives and interests.
• Negotiate and finalise sponsorship agreements.
• Establish and nurture relationships with local, regional, and international partners.
• Collaborate with partners for joint initiatives, events, and campaigns.
• Work closely with marketing and events teams to ensure sponsorship activations are executed efficiently.
• Liaising with external agencies for branding, design, and PR.
• Regularly liaise with sponsors and partners to ensure their satisfaction and explore opportunities for deepening the relationship.
• Dealing with kit suppliers.
• Oversee the target setting/budgeting, invoicing, and financial tracking of sponsorship and partnership contributions.
• Ensure all partnerships deliver a favourable return on investment, both financially and in alignment with organisational goals.
• Provide regular updates and reports on sponsorship and partnership initiatives, outcomes, and financials to senior management.
• Continuously monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to stay ahead in the sponsorship landscape.
• Explore other revenue opportunities such as Merchandising, Ticketing, etc.
• Develop and execute brand planning initiatives to enhance the Club’s market presence and visibility.
• Design and implement a comprehensive revenue strategy aligned with the Club’s long-term goals.
• Drive overall commercial strategy, leveraging sponsorships, merchandising, ticketing, and licensing opportunities for growth.

Who we’re looking for:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Sports Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in sponsorship, partnerships, or a related field, preferably in the sports industry.
• Strong network within the sports sponsorship and corporate sector.
• Demonstrable track record of securing high-value sponsorships and managing complex partnerships.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, strong verbal and written communication abilities, proficient in using CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A creative thinker with progressive ideas; able to think strategically, yet focus on execution; with proficiency in driving high-impact marketing campaigns across multiple channels (digital, social, print, advertisement, etc.)
• Tech and start-up savviness with the ability to strategise in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to function effectively in a diverse multi-disciplinary and international team environment.
• Strong critical thinking, organisational, and negotiation skills.
• Driven by a deep interest and passion for the Sports sector.
